GIVE IT A GO –
AND GIVE YOUR BUSINESS IDEA THE GREEN LIGHT


Enterprise is about having a great idea and making it happen. That’s why a unique competition has been launched in Lancashire for groups who have a great idea that benefits the community and want to turn it into reality.

Here’s how it works:

Stage One. Groups of three people or more, who have a new idea, can apply for the £5k Challenge. The districts of Lancashire participating in the competition are:

Burnley   Hyndburn  Preston   South Ribble  
 Chorley   Lancaster  Ribble   West Lancashire
 Fylde    Pendle   Rossendale  Wyre
 

12 winners will be chosen – one from each of the districts - and each receive £5,000 to help put their plans into practice. In addition, Selnet will be mentoring the winners in North, South and West Lancashire.

Stage Two. All 12 groups chosen in stage one will then compete to see which has brought most benefit and value to the community. The overall winner will be crowned the Best in Lancashire and receive an additional £20,000 to develop the project further. That’s a cool £25k for the winning group!

The 5k Challenge, is being led by Lancashire County Council through its economic development department, Lancashire County Developments Limited (LCDL), assisted by Selnet, the Social Enterprise Lancashire Network, and the 12 Lancashire Local Committees helping to judge the ideas.
