North Lancashire Social Enterprise Festival

Lancaster’s Alive with Social Enterprise                                                    

The streets of North Lancashire were awash with social enterprises as Lancaster embraced a festival of the third sector.

More than a dozen street stalls, with exhibitors from as far as Manchester, packed into the shopping district of the city to show what social enterprises have to offer.

Organiser, Jez Hall, explained: “As part of the festival, we had a lively debate on the role of social enterprise in a sustainable local economy with more than 70 delegates involved.”

“The panel included representatives of Lancaster city council, Selnet and experts from Lancaster University. The day rounded off with another event where certificates were presented to local social enterprise champions.”
