Two major programmes to help social enterprises across the North West are being delivered by Selnet and funded by Capacitybuilders.

 

One helps to form consortia so businesses can work smarter, while the other introduces social firms to various forms of funding so their work is sustainable.

    Work Smarter
     
     A programme of catalyzing consortia to help social enterprises  to form partnerships that will help secure contacts.
     
     A group of accredited support providers work with social companies on a register of tender-ready organisation and  identify procurement opportunities.
     
    The Consortia Advice Team, CATS, assess and evaluate what is required to form successful consortia and open the door for social enterprise to engage with local authorities, universities, Business Link, Department of Work and Pensions and the voluntary sector.

    Work Sustainably

    A financial diversification programme to help social enterprises that tend to be reliant on one or few income streams.

    In particular, social enterprises are helped to become investment ready and improve their ability to access loan finance as an alternative to grants.
